Voodoo Football

‘Voodoo Football' is an indoor American football game played by New Orleans Voodoo football team from 2004 – 2008. Arena Football League  (AFL) is organizing this indoor stadium game. The indoor football field is shorter than that of the other National Football League (NFL). NFL is at the national level and known to all American football fans. The indoor football is not popularized commercially and successful as the NFL league. New Orleans Voodoo Football team is an AFL football team like Texans, a NFL football team; the New Orleans Saints also is a NFL football.

AFL, arena football team as opposed to NFL was established in 1987 by Jim Foster to play indoor American Football game. In fact in 1980 Jim Foster an executive of NFL invented this game and in 1987 patented the game.  He started AFL game with four teams, the Pittsburgh Gladiators, Denver dynamite, Washington Commandos, and Chicago bruisers. The top two teams Denver and Pittsburgh played the Arena Bowl I championship in 1987 at Pittsburgh Civic Area (Outdoor), Pennsylvania. The Denver ranked #2 had beaten #1 Pittsburgh with a score 0f 45-16 in presence of 13232 spectators. All other AFL games were played at indoor stadium. The game was televised by ESPN. The AFL had very little success until in 1993 when it conducted an All-Star AFL game in Des Moines Iowa for fundraising. In 2000 AFL got an exposure while the Super Bowl XXXIV MVP quarterback Kurt Warner had played in AFL as Quarterback. And live television coverage was introduced. AFL continued till 2008. All AFL games had been cancelled in 2009. It is trying to reorganize for 2011 season. Here is a brief review of AFL and its teams:
